A new incarnation of the special ops mutant strike team will be introduced this summer, when Marvel Comics relaunches X-Force. Set in X-Men's new From the Ashes era, the latest X-Force consists of characters who have previously been part of the team, including the regenerating degenerate mercenary Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, the mutant inventor Forge, Tank, and other lesser-known mutants. The upcoming X-Force comic will be released on July 31.
The new X-Force series will frequently feature characters that Forge recruits for specific missions. Marvel has revealed the new lineup in the variant covers for Geoffrey Thorne and Marcus To's X-Force #1. Series regulars include Surge, the former X-Men leader, Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock (Captain Britain), her girlfriend telepath from the alternate future, Rachel Summers (Askani), Tank, a mutant with metamorphic powers, and Sage, the mastermind behind Krakoa's X-Force.
