Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics finally gets a launch date about two months since the compilation was announced. The release date was announced during Tuesday's Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. The good news is that the digital version of the collection is coming on September 12, 2024, but if you're hoping to purchase the physical version, you will have to wait longer because that won't be released in stores until November 22 of this year.
A pre-order trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was released along with the announcement, showcasing the compilation's seven of Capcom's iconic super-powered fighting games headlined by Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. Today's Nintendo Direct also announced Capcom Fighting Collection 2, which will be a compilation of eight fighting games from the company's history. The fighting collection is set to release in 2025, and will include Capcom vs. SNK 2 Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Project Justice, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Blistein, and Capcom Fighting Evolution. Just like Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will be released Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Steam).
