Marvel Games and Bethesda Softworks have collaborated with the developer Arkane Lyon to create a new single-player Blade game. It is expected to be a third-person game for the character with a more mature theme. The developer has just begun working on the game, which will follow an original story with the development studio’s original style.
Although the announcement trailer for the game is short, it is enough to give the fans a hint at what the upcoming Blade game might feature. The trailer shows our hero, the titular Daywalker, relaxing and listening to music at the barber while getting a shave and haircut. The barber also seems to be scared of him. Just as the sirens ring, we see him suit up in his iconic outfit as he expects an oncoming threat. The trailer cuts away as he reaches for his sword and says, “I am just getting started!”
The game director of Arkane Lyson, Dinga Bakaba, expressed that he is excited at the challenge of coming up with a unique story for the game. Bill Rosemann, the VP and Creative Director of Marvel Games, also showed his excitement about collaborating with Arkane Lyon for Blade. He said,
"In honor of Blade's 50th anniversary, we have found the perfect match for the Daywalker in Arkane Lyon, a studio of uncompromising artists who continually push the boundaries of game design and innovation. In addition to their award-winning talent, it's their personal passion and bold vision for our half-human, half-vampire iconoclast that makes this collaboration a perfect fit."
Will Marvel's Blade be Xbox exclusive?
Since Microsoft purchased Arkane Lyon as a part of the Bethesda deal, it should be a no-brainer that the game is going be an Xbox-exclusive title. Moreover, Arkane also released Redfall recently, which came out as an Xbox-exclusive game, as was expected after the Microsoft deal.
The trailer for Marvel's Blade showed many details, but it did not list any platform. The official website also does not have any platforms specified for the game, and neither do any insiders have any knowledge about this. All we can do right now is wait and see on what platforms this game ends up coming out.
