The world’s greatest thief will soon return to the small screen in Lupin Season 3. And to celebrate this major comeback, Netflix has dropped a new trailer, showing Assane Diop planning the biggest heist fans can think of. And once again, he will prove how he has become world-famous.
Lupin retells the story of the classic tale of Arsène Lupin, who’s known for being the world’s greatest thief and master of disguise. The French series follows the adventures of Assane, who shapes himself as the modern-day Lupin. Created by George Kay, the first season was released in January 2021, followed by the second season in June 2021. Thankfully, Lupin Season 3 will soon come after over two years of waiting.
The trailer sees Assane planning his most intense and insane heist so far. This time, he’s back in Paris to steal the Black Pearl. But unlike other thieves who keep their plans secret, Assane is different. He reveals his plan and gives authorities a warning.
As he says, he wants his victims to be spared from shock. “What kind of thief invites you to his own robbery?” the authorities say. From there, Assane tells Ben he has devised a plan, which he calls a big stunt, though he admits it will be tricky. On a scale of one to ten, Assane describes this heist as a “solid 12” dangerous.
The trailer also features the rally of people who want to see Assane. But amid all the eyes watching him steal the Black Pearl, he has successfully done it without anyone noticing. You can check the trailer below:
What will happen in Lupin Season 3?
Fans last saw Assane running from the police in the previous season. He was framed for murder by Hubert, the same guy who framed his father and sent him to prison, after revealing his major insurance fraud. Now that he has become the most wanted man in France, he believes lying low may benefit his son, Raoul, and ex, Claire.
However, he can no longer stand the suffering his family endures because of him, so he returns to Paris to ask them to leave France and start a new life somewhere else. But the ghost of the past will continuously hunt Assane, and he’s about to make his big return in Lupin Season 3.
Finally, Lupin Season 3 will be released on October 5. As fans have waited for Assane’s next heist for over two years, they will surely watch for this big comeback.
