The previously-announced anime adaptation of Shoji Goji's Loner Life in Another World light novel series has released a new trailer and revealed cast and staff details. Studios Hayabusa Film and Passione are in charge of the animation of the isekai fantasy anime, which is scheduled to premiere in October 2024. The trailer gives us a first look at the story about an entire classroom being summoned to another world by its god who chose them to become heroes, and introduces the protagonist Haruka, a lonely student, who missed the selection ritual. What is Loner in Another Life about?
The Loner in Another Life anime is based on the isekai fantasy light novel series of the same title (Japanese: Hitoribotchi no Isekai Kōryaku) by Shoji Goji and published on the Shosetsuka ni Narō website in 2016. Overlap acquired the series in 2018 and published it in print with illustrations by Boota, who worked on the art for the first two volumes. Saku Enokimaru took over illustration duties for the series after the second volume. A manga adaptation with art by Bibi iis being published in the Comic Gardo magazine, and it's currently ongoing.
The English version of the Loner Life in Another World manga was licensed by Kaiten Books, which provided the following plot description:
Haruka is just your average high school loner, minding his own business and keeping to himself as he makes it through his high school career, until one day—he’s suddenly sent to another world alongside the rest of his class! Before he knows it, he’s face-to-face with the god of this new world, who presents him with a list of cheat skills to choose from…but there’s a catch. It’s first come first served, and his classmates have already beaten him to the punch. Haruka has to make do with what he can get as he navigates his way through this brave new world, all while flying solo!
