The anime adaptation of Shoji Goji's Loner Life in Another World light novel series has found a streaming home ahead of its October 2024 premiere. HIDIVE has announced that it has acquired the license to stream the isekai fantasy anime series. Loner Life in Another World anime will stream exclusively on AMC Networks' anime streaming service as part of its Fall 2024 simulcast season. Following the official announcement, John Ledford, President of HIDIVE teased a special surprise for fans: “We may have a special sneak peek for fans next week at Anime Expo 2024, so stay tuned!”
Studios Hayabusa Film and Passione are animating the fantasy series. Akio Kazumi, who directed episodes of Ronja, the Robber's Daughter anime, is directing the anime series, with Kenta Ihara as the series composer, and Keiya Nakano as the character designer. What is Loner Life in Another World about?
The Loner Life in Another World anime is based on the isekai fantasy light novel series of the same title (Japanese: Hitoribotchi no Isekai Kōryaku) by Shoji Goji and published on the Shosetsuka ni Narō website in 2016. Overlap acquired the series in 2018 and published it in print with illustrations by Boota, who worked on the art for the first two volumes. Saku Enokimaru took over illustration duties for the series after the second volume. A manga adaptation with art by Bibi iis being published in the Comic Gardo magazine, and it's currently ongoing.
The English version of the Loner Life in Another World manga was licensed by Kaiten Books, which provided the following plot description:
Haruka is just your average high school loner, minding his own business and keeping to himself as he makes it through his high school career, until one day—he’s suddenly sent to another world alongside the rest of his class! Before he knows it, he’s face-to-face with the god of this new world, who presents him with a list of cheat skills to choose from…but there’s a catch. It’s first come first served, and his classmates have already beaten him to the punch. Haruka has to make do with what he can get as he navigates his way through this brave new world, all while flying solo!
