LEGO Fortnite Reveals New Social Sims-Style Game Mode

LEGO Fortnite is getting a major expansion this week. In addition to the new LEGO Pass with a bunch of new content for the existing LEGO Fortnite survival/crafting game (now rebranded as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey), an entirely brand new LEGO game, called Brick Life, will also be released.

LEGO Fortnite Brick LIfe, which Epic Games described as an open-world social sim, is scheduled to launch on Thursday, December 12. The Sims-style will let you and 31 other players hang out in Brick Bay, a vibrant LEGO City that's full of jobs, activities, and empty areas you can build on, and it will continue to expand with new content, including new resources, jobs, and events. For example, on December 18, it will open the Rooftop Club, a special social space that features stunning views of the city from above. Clearly, Brick Life is not just another Creative LEGO island; this is being treated as a full game, just like LEGO Fortnite Odyssey.

The launch of Brick Life is set to coincide with the addition of text chat to every experience in Fortnite, which will surely be an important part of a gameplay experience for a social sim such as this.

LEGO Fortnite will also have completely free skins. Players who link their LEGO and Epic accounts will receive the e Explorer Emilie skin and the Mr. Dappermint skin (he's a giant candy cane). Playing Fortnite on mobile and getting any amount of XP before February 21, 2025 will reward players with the Chord Kahele skin, which will be the first Festival default skin that players can equip as a skin, and which will also come with a LEGO style.

Brick Life is just one of the major new modes launching in Fortnite Chapter 6, along with the upcoming VALORANT-like first-person Ballistic mode, and the new Fortnite OG Chapter 1, Season 1 mode.
