Lee Do-hyun and Shin Si-a took the stage at Netf-Janchi in Seoul on Saturday to introduce Grand Galaxy Hotel, Netflix's fantasy romance from the team behind Hotel Del Luna. The two leads gave the clearest picture yet of the hotel that comforts the souls of the dead, and of the two people now running it.
Lee Do-hyun plays Eun-ha, the hotel's new owner, who takes over after the previous owner vanishes without a trace. "He may seem a bit prickly on the outside, but there is a secret behind why he has to be that way, so please look forward to what's in store for our Grand Galaxy Hotel next year," Lee said of the character, who carries a very secret past.
Shin Si-a plays Sang-soon, the hotel's only human employee, a manager who is unafraid of ghosts and uses top-tier sales skills to bring in guests and sort out their troubles. "If you're curious to know more, please check in to the Grand Galaxy Hotel," she said. "You will be able to discover my various charms."
The series is written by the Hong Sisters, Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran, and directed by Oh Choong-hwan, reuniting the creative team behind Hotel Del Luna. Netflix confirmed the production in October 2025 with script reading photos, and the series marks Lee Do-hyun's comeback project following his military discharge.
What is Grand Galaxy Hotel about?
The hotel story begins with the previous owner's mysterious disappearance, which leaves behind a secret connecting the living and the dead. Lee Soo-hyuk co-stars as Baek-gi, a free-spirited reaper who cleanses lingering evil spirits, while Lee Su-hyun plays Seok-san, a mysterious woman wrapped in dark secrets.
The Grand Galaxy Hotel is renowned among grim reapers worldwide for its service to the departed, acting as a gateway for souls moving into the next realm. Its legendary owner's disappearance turns the hotel upside down just as Eun-ha arrives to take charge, and Sang-soon's gift for befriending the ghostly guests becomes essential to keeping it running.
The Hong Sisters arrive with a long record of fantasy hits behind them, including My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho, Master's Sun and Alchemy of Souls. Oh Choong-hwan's directing credits include Doctors, While You Were Sleeping and Melo Movie, in addition to Hotel Del Luna itself.
For Lee Do-hyun, the series is a high-profile return, his first project since completing his military service in May 2025. He is known for Sweet Home, The Glory and the hit film Exhuma, while Shin Si-a broke out with The Witch: Part 2 – The Other One and Resident Playbook.
Both leads confirmed on stage that the series is coming next year. Grand Galaxy Hotel will stream on Netflix.
