Kingdom Season 5 Drops New Key Visual, Additional Cast Information & Official Release Date

Kingdom Season 5 will see more of Kan Ki and how he plans to help Ri Shin.

The story of Ri Shin is about to continue in Kingdom Season 5. The anime has dropped several updates for the upcoming season and even released a new key visual to give a glimpse of the Han cavalry led by Kan Ki. And to hype up the awaiting fans, its official release date has also been revealed.

Based on the Japanese manga by Yasuhisa Hara, Kingdom has turned into one of the best-selling manga of all time, with over 99 million copies in circulation as of July 2023. With its great storytelling, it even won the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2013. In 2012, Studio Pierrot adapted it into anime, followed by a live-action movie in 2019, a sequel in 2022, and a third film in 2023. And now, with its many iterations, Kingdom Season 5 is about to come.

The anime’s official website has unveiled a new key visual for the upcoming season, featuring the former bandits that made up the Han cavalry. It sees Kan Ki in the middle, showing his powerful glory, while Kyo Kurozakura, Raido, and Maron are behind him. And with the fierce looks on their faces, they seem to be ready to fight.

Who are the new cast members of Kingdom Season 5?

The anime has also released new cast information for Kingdom Season 5 and their comments about their roles in the series. Kentaro Ito will be Kan Ki's voice and hint that the new season will be exciting for his character as the story goes to Kurohitsu Hill. Kan Ki is about to show a fighting style that Nobu may hate, while he may help Shin to grow further.

Next is Haruka Nagamine as Kyo Kurozakura. The voice actress reveals the battle between the older ones will begin in Kingdom Season 5, and she even teases that viewers need to see the fighting style that only General Kan Ki can do. In addition, Kenji Nomura joins the series as Raido. The voice actor wants to prove that this man has existed and lived in the new season and even wants to play his role in the live-action.

Lastly, Mototeru Sakuma voices Maron. He reveals the Hishin Corps and the Han Cavalry are about to engage in a fierce battle in Kingdom Season 5 with the Zhao Army in Black Sheep. For the returning cast members, you can check the list below:

What is Kingdom Season 5 about?

Kingdom Season 5 is expected to cover the Koku You Campaign Arc. However, it remains to be seen if it also covers the Bureaucrats Job arc. Koku You Campaign sees Qin finish off Ai’s rebellion and gather enough soldiers to continue the battle and take over the Koku You Hills.

Alternatively, Bureaucrats Job features Sai Taku arranging a meeting between the king of Qi, Ou Ken, and the king of Qin, Ei Sei. However, to do this, he must pay a golden tribute and bring Prime Minister Ri Boku.

With Kan Ki’s arrival, Kingdom Season 5 will also feature the battle between the Qin Army and Zhao Army at Koku You Hill. Fans are about to see the general’s other side as Shin and other Ha Shin unit members arrive.

When is the Kingdom Season 5 release date?

Kingdom Season 5 will officially be released on January 6 at 11 PM JST on NHK General. However, there have yet to be any words on its international release, so fans should wait for further announcements.
