Park Jin-young Confronts Lee Moo-saeng Over Kim You-jung as 100 Days of Deception Reaches Its Midpoint

Two men, one bottle and a woman neither will back down over — 100 Days of Deception turns a quiet drink into its tensest showdown yet.

The previous episode of 100 Days of Deception ended on its most emotional beat yet, as Lee Ga-kyeong (Kim You-jung) watched Geum Seok-joong (Kam Woo-sung) shot and killed by Sato Shinichi (Jin Sun-kyu). Sato Hideo (Park Jin-young) walked the shaken Ga-kyeong home and asked, "Are you okay?" and she dropped the lie for the first time, answering, "No, I'm not okay," before breaking down in his arms.

It was the first time Ga-kyeong showed Hideo her true feelings instead of a cover story, and Hideo did not hide his own feelings in return. The tvN period spy romance stars Kim You-jung as Ga-kyeong, a pickpocket turned undercover spy for the independence movement who has infiltrated the Japanese Government-General of Korea.

Episode 7 builds on that shift, with Hideo set to confess his own story to Ga-kyeong as the two share their painful pasts and grow closer. The deepening honesty comes with a threat, as Sato Shinichi's suspicion of the pair continues to grow. A special pre-release video earlier this week also drew attention for a silent breakfast scene in which Hideo and Yoo Philip (Lee Moo-saeng) fought over a perilla leaf across the table from Ga-kyeong and Yoo So-ran (Kim Hyun-joo).

New stills from the episode show Hideo paying Yoo Philip a sudden late-night visit in Ga-kyeong's absence, the two men sharing a drink across a table. Philip hides his nerves and wariness behind a relaxed front, while Hideo, displeased by Philip's "inappropriate" relationship with Ga-kyeong, keeps the meeting formal and polite. By the time the bottle is nearly empty, though, the alcohol has chipped away at both men's composure, and a tense battle of nerves unfolds between them.

Park Jin-young's character, born Kim Tae-woong, works as an interpreter inside the Government-General and is the adopted son of its Inspector-General, the administration's second-highest official. That position keeps him close to Ga-kyeong's mission and to the danger surrounding it, while Yoo Philip's place in her life remains one of the drama's open questions. The series is a special project marking the 20th anniversary of tvN.

The production team teased what the midpoint brings. "As we reach the midpoint of the drama this week with Episodes 7 and 8, both the tension and the heart-fluttering romance will escalate," the team said, asking viewers to watch how Ga-kyeong and Hideo's emotions develop now that the two have begun facing their true feelings amid the lies and suspicion.
