Kim You-jung and Park Jin-young Can't Stop Laughing in 100 Days of Deception Making-Of Video

Between a notebook sketch and nonstop laughter, the 100 Days of Deception making-of video shows a very different side of Kim You-jung and Park Jin-young.

100 Days of Deception has released a new making-of video from the set of its latest episodes, and it shows a side of Kim You-jung and Park Jin-young that the drama itself rarely lets viewers see. Where the series plays its leads' dynamic for tension, the behind-the-scenes footage is all laughter, teasing and one very earnest notebook sketch.

The video, released by tvN on its official YouTube channel, opens with Kim You-jung showing off just how beautiful the set is. Before the cameras roll, she sits down with the director to talk through her understanding of the scene in detail, working out her character's emotions so the performance lands as realistically as possible once filming starts. It is a small moment, but it sets the tone for everything that follows: this is a cast that prepares seriously and then lets itself enjoy the day.

In another stretch of the footage, Kim You-jung becomes absorbed in drawing in a small notebook between takes. Her subject is Tae Woong, Park Jin-young's character, and when she shows the finished sketch to Park Jin-young and compares it against the actor himself, he is impressed enough to ask if he can keep the drawing. The exchange plays out like something the drama's own writers could not have scripted better — the kind of unscripted beat that making-of videos exist to catch.

The playful energy runs through the whole shoot. Kim You-jung and Park Jin-young keep each other smiling between setups, joking around in the gaps that filming always creates. At the same time, the footage makes a point of showing the other gear both actors shift into the moment a scene begins — careful, focused work on their characters and portrayals, with the laughter switched off on cue.

The timing of the release is a good one for the drama. 100 Days of Deception has been building momentum since its October 10 premiere, and its third episode just posted a 7.0 percent nationwide rating — the show's strongest Saturday performance yet. A set this relaxed, producing numbers like that, is usually the sign of a production that knows it has something working.
