After refusing to use his Kaiju powers, Kafka Hibino failed to synchronize with his suit and was even saved by Kikoru Shinomiya while continuously mocking him. With Mina Ashiro watching, Kafka will try to redeem himself and pass the defense member selection exam after failing several times. However, the preview stills for Kaiju No. 8 Episode 4, titled Fortitude 9.8, teases chaos that will ensue in the exam hall and Kafka will take action.
Kaiju No. 8 Episode 4 stills tease the surprising turn of events that will happen in the exam hall. Reno Ichikawa still dons his defense force member suit, hinting at more action as he tries to pass the exam. The next preview shows other defense force aspirants trying to take down a huge monster before them. Kikoru is then seen bleeding and seemingly defeated despite showing her great fighting abilities in the previous episode.
A still of a young Kikoru follows, so there may be a flashback story of her youth. To excite fans the most, Kakfa has unleashed his Kaiju powers and transformed to fight a real monster that infiltrates the exam hall. For the last still, Kafka looks determined to pass the exam and be an official defense force member.

What to Expect from Kaiju No. 8 Episode 4
Kaiju No. 8 Episode 4 will pick up where the previous episode left off. After being attacked and injured by a monster, Kafka will do his best to get back on his feet with Reno's help. Kikoru will end the exams sooner than expected, but a monster will suddenly appear, creating chaos in the hall.

Kafka, who was shown the difference in his ability early in the exam, stands up again with the help of Reno, but thanks to Kikoru's efforts, the final examination ends in the blink of an eye. The examinees were simply overwhelmed by Kikoru's tremendous fighting power. Meanwhile, a mysterious monster suddenly appears in the exam hall. Due to an unexpected situation, the venue falls into chaos.
The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Naoya Matsumoto. Its serialization started in July 2020 and has collected 12 tankobon volumes. So far, it has sold over 13 million copies and has been praised for its great premise, characters, and art. Viz Media has licensed the manga in English. Production I.G then produced its anime adaptation, premiering in April 2024 and releasing three episodes to date.
