There is little doubt that Toji Fushiguro is a force to reckon with in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. As the villain returns in the Shibuya Incident arc and prepares to face off against his own son, voice actor Takehito Koyasu reveals what he truly admires about the character he portrays in the anime.
The official Jujutsu Kaisen website recently shared a "father and son" joint interview with Takehito Koyasu and Yuma Uchida, who plays Megumi Fushiguro in the anime. During the interview, the voice actors were asked what they found fascinating about the characters they portray. Interestingly, Koyasu pointed out that he has always been a huge fan of Toji even before he got the role.
"I fell in love with Toji from the moment I read the manga. He's humanly flawed but strong, and that's incredibly cool," Koyasu said. "He also looks very cool, and there's a part of his way of life that I admire. It must be so much fun to live freely without any constraints, doing what you love. Since I can't actually live like that, I'm happy to be able to play it as a voice actor. There's no greater happiness than this."

This is certainly a huge thing coming from a renowned actor like Takehito Koyasu. After all, he has a history of voicing iconic anime villains, having portrayed Dio Brando in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Zeke Jaeger in Attack on Titan, and Nikolai in Bungo Stray Dogs. Koyasu's excitement about playing a character like Toji is noteworthy considering that he truly likes Toji.
How did Toji return in the Shibuya Incident arc?
We all met Toji Fushiguro in the first cour of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 when he easily went through Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo to assassinate the Star Plasma vessel. Although he was effectively killed by Gojo, Toji made a notable return during the Shibuya Incident arc, albeit accidentally. When Granny Ogami summons Toji's soul to take on Takuma Ino, her grandson's body is overtaken by Toji. Although the effects of the technique should have worn off after Ogami was killed by Toji, he is still on the hunt for formidable opponents and is now going after his own son.

The Shibuya Incident Arc has brought back not only Toji but also the King of Curses, Sukuna. In recent episodes, Sukuna has resurfaced from within Yuji's body, swiftly demonstrating why he is such a formidable and dangerous force in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. The return of two powerful villains should be reason enough to look forward to the next episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
The 16th episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere on November 9, 2023.
