The first cour of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is already set to premiere this week but it looks like the wait for the next set of episodes will not be a long one. The release date for the second half of the upcoming season has been announced and that means the Shibuya Incident arc is happening a lot sooner than expected.
It has already been confirmed that the first half of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will adapt the Gege Akutami manga's Gojo's Past story arc and is being referred to as the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc. This means that the second cour of the anime is all about the Shibuya Incident arc which isn't exactly a great thing for Satoru Gojo.
But when can we expect the second half of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2? The anime's official Twitter account has confirmed that the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc will last for five weeks and after a behind-the-scenes look at the first season, the Shibuya Incident arc will premiere on the last week of August.

This is excellent news considering that fans waited a very long time for the second season although it was confirmed in early 2022. Luckily, the wait was indeed worth it as the second season is now expected to run for several weeks.
The episode count for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has not yet been announced but it sounds like the first cour will consist of at least five episodes. Additionally, the first half of the second season will not feature the main protagonist Yuji Itadori as it is set in the past when Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were still students at Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will premiere with the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc on July 6, 2023. The second half, which will adapt the manga's Shibuya Incident arc, will then premiere on August 31, 2023.
