Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has proven to be bloody and intense with the number of deaths featured, including that of the fan-favorite Kento Nanami. His death comes as both shocking and brutal as he walks toward his demise. However, fans aren’t the only ones affected by his death, as the anime’s behind-the-scenes footage shows his voice actor, Kenjirou Tsuda’s emotional final voice recording.

The 17-second clip is full of emotions as Kenjirou Tsuda prepares to deliver the last lines for Nanami while Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know aptly plays in the background. The scene then shows a half-burned Nanami in front of Mahito, telling Yuji the now iconic and hair-raising line, “You got it from here,” as the voice actor seemingly tries to stop his tears from falling as he embodies the character.

Soon after, Mahito kills Nanami, while Yuji sees everything happening before him. Kenjirou Tsuda then picks up his bag and leaves the recording room while releasing an exasperated sigh, saying goodbye to a role he played since Nanami was introduced in the anime’s eighth episode in November 2020.

Who is Kenjirou Tsuda?

Kenjirou Tsuda is one of the most famous Japanese voice actors. He has voiced several characters in the anime world; most are dark and passionate roles. Debuting in 1995, his voice can also be heard in games, movies, radio, and theater. He’s best known for his signature drawling and menacing tone, hinting at the strength and braveness of the character, adding more appeal.

But aside from Jujutsu Kaisen’s Nanami, Tsuda has played several famous characters, like Boruto: Naruto Next Generations’ Jigen/Isshiki Otsutsuki and Chainsaw Man’s Kishibe. He’s also Atomic Samurai in One Punch Man, Shin Yasuda in Hiromiya, and Hannes in Attack on Titan. In addition, he plays Overhaul/Kai Chisaki in My Hero Academia, Tatsu in The Way of the Houseband, and Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh!, among others.
