Bandai Namco Entertainment recently took things to a whole new level when they decided to develop a game based on the popular Jujutsu Kaisen anime. The developers recently shared a trailer for the upcoming game, giving fans a look at its exciting 2v2 PvP gameplay mechanics, along with revealing the official release date.
Bandai Namco shared the Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash trailer on their YouTube and social media channels. The game is an arena-based PvP fighting game with little changes to its matchmaking since it pairs up players in teams of two to go against enemies as some of their beloved Jujutsu Kaisen characters.
From the trailer, we can see that the game features a wide range of playable characters, such as Panda, Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, and twelve other major characters from the anime. That’s a whole lot of options for gamers to choose from! Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash offers both online co-op and offline battles, giving players the ability to make their own teams consisting of Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerers.
Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash Release Date & Platforms
Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is set to launch on February 2, 2024, for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. The game will be released in several versions, such as the Digital Deluxe and Collector’s editions, with both of them providing exclusive content from the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc of Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
Not only this, but they also offer a digital art book, some in-game cosmetics based on the anime’s first animated opening sequence, as well as a soundtrack. Players who purchase the Collector’s Edition will also receive the same content alongside an exclusive wall scroll featuring the anime’s characters. However, it’s worth noting that it’s only available in the official online store of Bandai Namco.
What is Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash about?
When it comes to its story, Cursed Clash will reportedly adapt major scenarios from the original Jujutsu Kaisen anime’s most popular story arcs, such as The Origin of Blind Obedience and the Curse Womb Must Die. These two arcs consist of multiple key climactic battles, making them the most likely choices for the game’s story.
As per the developers, many story elements from the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are also going to be featured in one form or another in the upcoming game. Bandai Namco gained some popularity by producing high-budget video games based on anime properties like My Hero Academia and One Punch Man, which eventually ended up becoming arena fighting games.
Although the company does create in-house video games as well, such as its famous JRPG Tales series, a lot of its anime-based titles are outsourced to third-party developers. The same happened with Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash, which has come from My Hero One’s Justice developer called Byking, Inc.
