The claim also states that PC launch would be 12-18 months later and the information comes from “multiple devs across two studios.” The tweet sharing the rumor has reached 10,000 likes and 4 million views, but it has been community noted on X (formerly Twitter) that it's unconfirmed, which it clearly is, but that note only cites official communication from Rockstar Games where this is said to be a supposed insider report.
While the rumor has gone viral on X, multiple sources have disputed its claim. Jason Schreier on the GTA 6 Delay Rumor
On Monday, Bloomberg reporter and one of the most reliable insiders, Jason Schreier, has taken it to X to confirm that he has spoken to six Rockstar employees who haven’t heard of any delay. "The internet (and my DMs) blew up this weekend over a rumor that GTA VI is delayed," Shreier wrote. "Good news is that six Rockstar employees all told me they have not heard of any delay. Bad news: it's a big, ambitious game and could very well slip! Too much time left to say anything definitive."
He went on to clarify: "Six staff told me they weren't informed of a delay. For all I know, Rockstar's executive team could have decided months ago to delay GTA VI without telling the company. But the lack of internal announcement suggests that the Twitter rumor was nonsense"

Rockstar Universe Also Disputes The GTA 6 Delay Rumor
Rockstar Universe, an outlet that previously leaked Grand Theft Auto VI story details last year, claims its own sources know nothing about a delay of the game. "There's nothing to support the claims at present, but, nevertheless, the game will still likely get delayed further down the line," the site wrote. The outlet also claims to have talked to Jason Schreier, who hadn't heard anything about it either.
Rockstar has a history of frequently delaying their games, so it's easy to see why many are just assuming what will likely become the biggest video game release of all time will probably be delayed beyond what was originally announced as its release window, but at the time of this writing, there is no official confirmation of this rumor. The only official Take Two update has been to investors or some news sites. When Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked in a CNBC interview about the confirmed 2025 release window, he said, “We narrowed the timing because we are highly confident in that timing.” However, it's worth noting that "things can change" in terms of whether or not the game will be delayed.
