I'm a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl's Pet anime will begin broadcasting early next year!

The anime adaptation of Nozomi Ginyoku's I'm a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl's Pet light novel series is coming early next year, and today, the official website of the fantasy comedy series has released the first full trailer for it. The trailer previews the anime's opening theme song, Saijokyu no Kokoro, performed by Nonoka Obuchi. The website also announced the anime's January 2025 premiere and two additional cast members.

The trailer highlights the anime's comedic story that follows a knight who was once more-reincarnated in the body of a behemoth cub that apparently looks like an adorable kitten. A stunning elf takes him as her pet, and despite his appearance, he fights to protect her. Watch the new trailer below:

The newly-announced Japanese voice cast are Nonoha Obuchi as Lily and Yu Wakui as Feri, and here are the new visuals for their characters:

Animation studios Zero-G and Saber Works are animating the series, with Tetsuo Hirakawa as director, Kanichi Katou (The Eminence in Shadow) as the series composer, and Tomoyuki Abe as character designer. Yusuke Shirato (In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki) and oni are producing the anime's music.

The fantasy comedy anime is based on the I'm a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl's Pet light novel series written by Nozomi Ginyoku and illustrated by Mitsuki Yano. Micro Magazine acquired the series, which began publishing it under their GC Novels imprint in March 2018. It also received a manga adaptation illustrated by Taro Shinonome, and it began serialization in Hakusensha's Young Animal Arashi magazine in March 2018 before being moved to the Young Animal magazine in July 2018.
