The TV anime adaptation of Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naru zo (I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History) has revealed a new visual and confirmed its 2024 premiere. The anime was announced earlier this year, and it will be based on the light novels of the same title by Izumi Okido. The production studio, cast, and staff haven't been revealed yet, but with a confirmed release year, we can expect more information to come in the next few months.

The series written by Izumi Okido began serialization as a web novel in December 2018, and Enterbrain later acquired the series and published it as a light novel series under its B's Log Bunko light novel imprint with art illustrated by Jyun Hayase in August 2019. As of today, five volumes have been published, and a manga adaptation illustrated by Akari Hoshi began serialization on the manga website of Enterbrain's B's Log Comic in May 2020 with four volumes currently available. I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History's commemorative visuals by Hoshi and Okido were released last August.

The I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History series follows the story of Alicia, the eldest daughter of the wealthy Williams family, a lineage renowned for their expertise of dark magic. Despite taking the role of a villainess, she exists as a fictional character originating in an otome game, but an unnated young woman who's a passionate admirer of Alicia yearns to become her. Miraculously, her wish is granted through a strange twist of fate involving a drowsy truck driver. This twist results in her demise and subsequent rebirth as a seven-year-old Alicia within the game's world.
