The anime adaptation of Hanyuu and Air Matsukoto's Hazure Skill "Kinomi Master": Skill no Mi (Tabetara Shinu) wo Mugen ni Taberareru You ni Natta Ken (“Failure Skill 'Berry Master': The Story of How I Became Able to Eat an Unlimited Number of Skill Fruit (That Kill You if You Eat Them)”) manga, based on Hanyuu's original novels of the same title, is coming. Asahi Production is the animation studio producing the Hazure Skill "Kinomi Master" anime, with Ryuichi Kimura as director and Gigaemon Ichikawa as series composer. Risa Miyadani and Yasuka Otaki are in charge of the character designs, Selin is composing the anime's music.
What is Hazure Skill "Kinomi Master" about?
The upcoming anime is based on the Hazure Skill "Kinomi Master": Skill no Mi (Tabetara Shinu) wo Mugen ni Taberareru You ni Natta Ken light novels written by Hanyuu and illustrated by Yasutaka Isekawa. Kodansha first published the light novel series under its K Light Novel Books imprint in May 2022.
Hazure Skill "Kinomi Master" follows the story of a young man named Light Underwood, who wants to become the greatest adventurer. He and his friend Lena consume skill fruits, which can kill them if eaten more than once. While Lena quickly acquires the Sword Saint skill and instantly becomes an S-rank adventurer, Light gains the "Berry Master" skill, which is pretty much useless in combat as it's only useful for cultivating fruit, so he dedicates his time to farming and training with a sword.
One day, Light accidentally consumes another "Skill Fruit", which is supposed to kill him since he already consumed one, but instead he acquires the "Sword God" skill.
