Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 recently finished its theatrical run, and it turned out to be a huge success at the box office. The highly-anticipated third movie in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, directed by James Gunn, was well-received by both critics and fans, with many praising the movie's diverse characters, action sequences, and the emotional story centered on the conflict between Rocket Raccoon and the villain, High Evolutionary.
A lot of exciting things happened in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but there are some scenes that didn't make it into the final cut of the movie. Chukwundi Iwuji, who portrayed the High Evolutionary, revealed to Comicbook.com that there was an alternate ending where his villainous character is actually shown surviving the threequel's ending. Marvel has released the first deleted scene from the movie, giving us a look at the alternate ending that Iwuji was talking about.

Speaking to Comicbook.com's Phase Zero podcast, Iwuji revealed that the movie had an alternate ending than the shown in theaters and revealed details about what happened to his character.
"Well, let me just put it this way. I'm hoping you'll see an extended version or maybe an alternate ending, you know, that we certainly did film," Iwuji told Comicbook.com. "I mean the whole point in Marvel is that unless you see someone die they haven't necessarily died and even if they do die what does that mean in the multiverse, right? But, the point is that Rocket doesn't shoot me. They make a point of saying why don't you kill him and he says no, I'm not going to kill him. And you don't actually see me go down with the ship. So, I'll just leave it at that."
James Gunn previously confirmed the fate of High Evolutionary Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. If you want to know more information about the movie's other deleted scenes, check out the details of the Blu-ray/Digital release of GOTG Vol. 3.
