GTA 6 has been a long time coming, and it is about time we get a glimpse at the game through the gameplay trailer, which is set to release soon. While Rockstar Games is working on giving us a first look at their game, leakers have been doing their job of figuring out more details about the upcoming game.

Rockstar Games have maintained a strict silence when it comes to their most hyped upcoming release. They only even confirmed the existence of GTA 6 some time ago after a major data leak that happened some time ago.

However, the latest lineup of leaks for Grand Theft Auto 6 suggests that the game will move on from the weapon system of Grand Theft Auto 5 and instead take inspiration from two recent Rockstar projects: Red Dead Redemption 2 and Max Payne 3.

New Weapon Mechanics To Be Implemented In GTA 6

GTA 6 is reportedly set to have the weapons-carrying system of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the shooting mechanics of Max Payne 3. A reliable source for Grand Theft Auto Leaks, Rockstar Universe, posted a Tweet stating that the inventory hosting system for GTA will reportedly be similar to that of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Alan Wake 2.

For those who are unfamiliar with RDR2’s inventory system, the game restricts players in inventory space. This forces the player to carefully select which weapons they want to carry, and if they want to carry more weapons, then use saddlebags. This is obviously different from the past GTA games, which gave players the freedom to carry as many weapons as they liked.

Secondly, the gunplay system of Max Payne 3 is also reportedly set to be implemented into the new game. These intense and impactful gunplay mechanics could replace GTA’s shooting mechanics, which can be repetitive and boring at times.

These leaked changes have received mixed reviews from fans of the community. Some think that these changes will improve GTA 6’s gameplay, while others aren’t ready to bid farewell to the long-standing gun mechanics of Grand Theft Auto games. Either way, we hope Rockstar Games will implement whatever weapons system is better suited for the game.
