It's been more than three months since Rockstar Games released the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, and fans area already calling out more updates on the highly-anticipated game. While we still don't know when Rockstar plans to launch the second trailer, fans have analyzed details in the first trailer and shared their findings on social media.

GTA 6 is already expected to feature a significantly larger open-world map, with the sixth installment set to take place in the Florida-inspired state of Leonida and its coastal metropolis, Vice City (Miami), it looks like that won't be the only location gamers will be able to explore.

According to various leaks discovered in recent years, it looks as though GTA 6's map will not only be based on Florida but also surrounding states such as Georgia. Leonida will not just feature Vice City, but fans can expect surrounding points of interest including locations inspired by the Everglades, the Florida Keys, lakes, ports, and other unnamed cities and small towns.

Fans shouldn't be surprised if these leaks and rumors turn out to be true as GTA 6 is set to be one of the biggest open-world games of all times, but the Grand Theft Auto community haven't just stopped there with one Redditor noticing a detail in the first trailer that most viewers have missed. Before we get to that detail, here's the official trailer of GTA 6 for your reference:

“This shows how vast the map will be. Vice City is all the way out there!” user u/whosthesixth wrote, referring to a screenshot taken of one of the two confirmed protagonists of GTA 6, Jason. As you can see in the Reddit post embedded below, the infamous Vice City can be seen across the horizon, and it looks pretty far away, giving us an idea of the game's expansive open-world.

Will GTA 6 map include Georgia?

According to leaked gameplay details shared last year, GTA 6 will feature locations outside of Leonida (Florida), and that includes locations from a state inspired by Georgia, indicating that players will be able to travel beyond Vice City.

“Rockstar have brought down and featured locations from Georgia, including a Prison and mountain ranges not present in real world Florida,” the GTA 6 leak document noted.

In September 2023, users shared footage that featured Jason outside of a location that looks similar to Augusta State Medical Prison in Georgia. In the real world, Georgia borders Florida, but the state is still quite far from Miami, so we can expect Vice City to be far from the Georgia-inspired locations in the game.

It's worth mentioning that Rockstar has not officially confirmed if there will be locations in GTA 6's map that are inspired by Georgia, so we can treat this information as rumor for now.
