GTA 6 rumors and leaks have been running wild since the title was announced, and Rockstar Games has been silent over the entire matter. Recently, a new rumor has been going around that the developers might be changing how police function in GTA 6. Many Grand Theft Auto fans would feel much better if the police remained the same in the upcoming game as they used to be in GTA 5, but it looks like American video game publisher has other plans.
The developer might make the police much more realistic by adding some improvements and changes. A popular GTA 6 leaker known as GTAVI_Countdown recently took to Twitter to divulge some information about the changes the police will undergo. The leak suggests that players will no longer be forced to respray their cars to lose the police since the cops can recognize and track the vehicles.
The leak also indicates that the police will take some time before arriving at the scene instead of just showing up instantly out of nowhere. This adds further depth to their role, giving them a much more realistic feel. It remains to be seen how immersive this gameplay experience actually is in the game.
Grand Theft Auto police are famous for shooting first and then arresting later, but this might change soon. As per the leak, the cops in GTA 6 will give players some time to surrender on their own before shooting first. They will also search for ways to surround the players instead of rushing them all simultaneously. But, if you are caught in a five-star wanted level or are busy blowing people up, it is recommended that you drop everything and run.
Many fans have commented on the Twitter post, with most of them wanting the overhaul to take place. A GTA 6 fan commented, “Happy that the cops are getting a huge revamp…tired of using franklin and just getting shot instantly but all jokes it is good that they are making the cops to use their senses."
Another fan joined in, stating, “Hope we get K-9 police dogs in GTA 6, would be a really cool addition to the game." A third netizen said, “If it’s real that would be so fun.” As good as these improvements sound, none of them have been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games yet, so they should be taken with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, fans anticipate that GTA 6 will be released between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, based on information from a recent investor call held by Take-Two Interactive. The company stated that "active development for the next entry" is "well underway" and that it will initiate its "next phase of growth in Fiscal 2025."
