The Chapter 236 leaks are finally out and fans are going through several emotions while reading through the manga's new pages. Not surprisingly, Gege Akutami is smack in the middle of it all as the mangaka has just dropped a major shocker.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236, Satoru Gojo is still in the middle of the fight against Ryomen Sukuna. However, the readers are brought to a conversation between Gojo and Suguru Geto. He converses with his old friend and is also reunited with Kento Nanami, Yu Haibara, Masamichi Yaga, Riko Amanai, and Misato Kuroi. Gojo proceeds to say goodbye to them after reflecting on his own mortality.
As we go back to the fight, it is revealed that Mahoraga has in fact adapted to Infinity and managed to land a fatal blow. In the final panel, it is confirmed that Gojo has been cut in half as Sukuna promises that he won't forget the sorcerer.
It's a jaw-dropping conclusion and fans are understandably in shock. On the other hand, Jujutsu Kaisen readers are also threatening to break the internet by calling for Gege Akutami. In fact, the phrase "GEGE WHEN I CATCH YOU" is now trending on X (formerly Twitter) as fans try to reach out to the mangaka for breaking their hearts.
It has truly been an amazing run for Gojo but the bigger fight is far from over. There are still major players in Jujutsu Kaisen who are ready to take on Sukuna and avenge Gojo by the time the manga concludes.
For now, it is unclear what will happen after Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236. In the meantime, fans are already looking forward to a completely different fight in the anime. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9 is titled Shibuya Incident Opening ("Shibuya Jihen Kaimon") and will premiere on September 21, 2023.
