The official website of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has released preview stills and synopsis for the anime's ninth episode, and they tease the begining of the battle between Frieren's party and Aura's army, and it looks the entire battle will take place at night. Episode 9 is titled Aura of the Guillotine, which is scheduled to premiere this Friday.

Frieren, who had left the city alone, was confronted by “Aura the Guillotine,” one of the Seven Sages of Destruction. Aura, who possesses enormous magical power, hurls her army of the dead at Frieren one after another. Meanwhile, Fern and Stark rescue Count Granat from the clutches of Lügner and Linie. The battle between Frieren’s party and Aura’s army is about to begin.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is being directed by Keiichiro Saito (Bocchi the Rock!) at studio Madhouse. The scripts are written by Tomohiro Suzuki (One-Punch Man), the music is composed by Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) while Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) is in charge of the character design.The opening theme song Yuusha was performed by YOASOBI, and the ending theme song, titled Anytime Anywhere, is performed by Milet. The anime's protagonist, Freieren, is voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger of Spy x Family).
