Fortnite Seemingly Teases Chewbacca Content

It looks like Chewbacca will be joining Fortnite as part of this year's Star Wars Day celebration.

On Monday, Epic Games dropped a teaser trailer hinting at the developer/publisher's plans for this year's Star Wars Day (May 4th). The company is planning to add new Star Wars content for Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and LEGO Fortnite as part of the franchise's celebration. While details are still being kept under wraps, there have been leaks that gave fans an idea what Epic may be planning to release on Star Wars Day, and now, it looks like Chewbacca will be a major part of the event.

Han Solo's Wookiee sidekick has yet to be featured in Fortnite, but according to a series of tweets from the official LEGO X account, it looks like he will making his debut in the popular battle royale game. As you can see in the tweet below, the account shared yesterday's teaser, and made multiple references to and the co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon. The account did not mention any other Star Wars characters, so this likely confirms Chewbacca's appearance in Fortnite.

Last December, when Epic Games launched LEGO Fortnite, they added LEGO counterparts for Star Wars skins like Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker, and now it looks like Chewbacca will also get the same treatment. If you've been keeping up with recent leaks, this shouldn't surprise you. According to a Fortnite datamine last month, one of the uncovered files was related to the Bowcaster, which in Star Wars, is a weapon commonly used by Chewbacca and other Wookiees. So this news makes sense as we'll likely see Chewie wield a Bowcaster in the game.

What Star Wars content will be added to Fortnite on Star Wars Day 2024?

According to a reliable leaker Hypex, the new content that will be added to Fortnite next month will not just be Chewbacca's Bowcaster, but also new skins for the iconic Wookiee and "Rebel Leia". Lightsabers and Force powers.

Hypex also claims that Fortnite Festival will release the Cantina Band track from A New Hope. In-universe, the music was performed by Figurin D'an and the Modal Nodes, but gamers will be able to jam out the popular tune for themselves. Since Hypex didn't list any other Star Wars music possibilities, it's likely that it will be the only track that will arrive in the game.

As with any other leaks, we should take all of this with a grain of salt. Hypex has a solid track record of sharing accurate information about Fortnite content ahead of their official reveals, but it's always best to wait for Epic's official announcement about the game's future updates.
