Fortnite’s rumored racing mode has lately been grabbing a lot of players' attention, and if leaks are to be trusted, then we're all for it. Fortnite became popular for its epic Battle Royale game mode, but it soon began to stretch out its branches into other areas, introducing other exciting game modes, such as Save the World and Creative mode.

It has been six years since the launch of the battle royale game, with its player count only continuing to increase each day. This allowed Epic Games to make some use of its resources and explore other exciting game modes and features. However, now that Creative 2.0 has been released, the Fortnite developers have decided to focus on a new game mode.

Earlier this year, information was leaked suggesting Fortnite might get its very own racing mode. In addition to this, a couple of months ago, some game files were data mined, and leakers found some solid evidence pointing to a game mode with the codename DelMar and that it is set to release sometime in the future.

A reputable Fortnite leaker, NotJulesDev recently leaked a whole thread of a few additional features that players might see in the rumored racing mode. From what we can see, it looks like the mode has taken quite a lot of inspiration from Mario Kart and Rocket League. In the past, Fortnite has collaborated with Rocket League, and they might do it again.

In the rumored racing mode, cars will have the ability to flip while in the air simply by jumping, similar to how it used to happen in Rocket League. Not only this, but Fortnite players might also be able to ride the popular Octane Vehicle once again in the game.

Similar to Mario Kart, Fortnite players will likely be able to achieve a headstart boost in the racing mode once they start driving before the start of a race. One other Mario Kart mechanic that might be found in the mode is some type of a “Turbo” mechanic. So, there’s a high chance that gamers will just have to drift in order to boost.

In addition to all of these exciting features, the recently added Fortnite mechanic, i.e., mud will also come in handy in the DelMar project. Both mud and ice will affect a player’s driving and might make it hard for them to control the car. So, try to stay as far away from icy streets and muddy puddles as you can!
