Fortnite Nerfs Fortnitemares 2024 Weapon

It didn't take long for Epic Games to nerf one of Fortnite's newest weapons.

As Halloween season invades the islands in Fortnite, a bunch of scary weapons have also dropped as part of Fortnitemares 2024, the major wave of content planned for this season. Epic Games already released a plethora of new skins, cosmetics, points of interests, and quests on the Fortnite islands, and one of the most fun Fortnitemares weapons is getting nerfed, and it's the one that lets players rev up their violent drive to send other players back to the lobby in Battle Royale: the Chainsaw.

In a statement shared on the @FortniteStatus account, Epic informed gamers that it has now disabled the spring attack with the Chainsaw in the game. The Chainsaw is arguably considered to be the most popular Fortnitemares weapon, and many Fortnite players have been using it due to its ability to quickly slice through structures and its high damage. However, the Chainsaw has one major bug that players pointed out, and that's why Epic has to disable its spring attack.

The bug that Epic is trying to fix is the one that lets players cover large distances with the Chainsaw's print attack. Players had been using the melee-focused weapon's sprint attack with other traversal methods in Fortnite, allowing them to essentially skyrocket through the air. Epic clearly did not intend this feature to have this powerful effect, so now that's being disabled until a solution is found.

The nerf on the Chainsaw shouldn't last too long. Fortnite players can expect a new hotfix for the battle royale game once Epic figures out how to fix the weapon's sprint attack. So for the meantime, it might not be wise to use the Chainsaw in Fortnite, especially if you're playing the game competitively. If you're trying to complete the Fortnitemares 2024 quest to damage opponents with a Chainsaw for a total of 1,500 damage, it might be best to wait until Epic brings the Chainsaw back to full strength.
