When it comes to collaborations, Fortnite is the first game that comes to mind, considering the number of crossovers they have done with popular franchises, including WWE. Some rumors have recently been flying around that Fortnite might be planning to collaborate again with WWE. So, players can expect to see some popular wrestler skins arrive in the game. But, it is worth noting that this won’t be the first time fans will see wrestler skins in the battle royale game.
Fortnite introduced the John Cena skin in July 2022, with the entire bundle, including a WWE Championship Title and the U Can’t C Me emote. Before that, a pair of luchador skins were also released, with the Lucha Set, which consisted the Dynamo luchador and Masked Fury luchador, arriving sometime in 2018.
A reputable Fortnite leaker known as Shiina recently shared on Twitter that the two professional wrestlers, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch, are getting skins for the Fortnite x WWE collaboration. If this wasn’t enough, the official WWE account recently posted two snaps on Instagram of the two wrestlers, each carrying an actual Fortnite pickaxe.
Bianca Belair can be seen wielding the Party Animal Slurp keg pickaxe, while Becky Lynch is holding the Rainbow Smash axe. The caption divulged that the two WWE Superstars were “gearing up for something.” Not only that but it also ended with “#ad” and the entire post is marked with a “Paid Partnership” flag, which is required on Instagram for paid advertisements.
This indicates that WWE shared those images as a part of their marketing that goes beyond the franchise itself, and it seems like Fortnite is their marketing partner. Fans saw this coming for some time now since, in March, data mining led to the discovery that a new female WWE skin was mentioned in the shop files of Fortnite.
With the skins, there were also files for a pickaxe and back bling. So, many players guessed that it was only Becky Lynch who would be added this time. Little did they know, Bianca Belair was also planning to jump on the Fortnite bandwagon.
However, Epic Games has not announced anything regarding the two skins being added to Fortnite. But since WWE has started advertising the crossover, an announcement might be coming anytime now.
The American video game and software developer might announce the arrival of more WWE skins, or the collaboration might go beyond just the skins. So, Fortnite and WWE fans will have to wait and see what are in store for them.
Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Mobile, Switch, PS4, and PS5.
