Star Wars Day (May 4th) is coming in a few weeks, and Epic Games is gearing up for another Star Wars collaboration with Fortnite. On Monday, the official X account of the popular battle royale game has released a new teaser video, revealing that new Star Wars-themed content is coming to Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and LEGO Fortnite. It's still unclear exactly what content will be featured in the upcoming collaboration, but it's confirmed that the content will be released one day ahead of Star Wars Day, dropping on May 3, 2024.
Fortnite has a long history with Disney and Lucasfilm's Star Wars franchise, and it looks like there will be more coming beyond next month's wave of new content. Earlier this year, Disney announced that it purchased a stake in Epic Games for $1.5 billion, so we're expecting to see more content based on Disney properties, most notably Marvel and Star Wars. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait for more updates about the new Star Wars and Marvel content Epic Games plan to release in Fortnite.
What new Star Wars content are coming to Fortnite in May 2024?
According to Fortnite leaker Hypex, the new content coming next month will include the previously leaked Chewbacca's Bowcaster, as well as new skins for the iconic Wookiee and "Rebel Leia". Lightsabers and Force powers are expected to return as part of the franchise's celebration.
The reliable leaker also claims that Fortnite Festival will release the Cantina Band track from A New Hope. In-universe, the music was performed by Figurin D'an and the Modal Nodes, but gamers will be able to jam out the popular tune for themselves. Since Hypex didn't list any other Star Wars music possibilities, it's likely that it will be the only track that will arrive in the game.
Just like with any other leaks, players should take all of this with a grain of salt. Hypex has a solid track record of sharing accurate information ahead of their official reveals, but it's always best to wait for Epic's official announcement about Fortnite's future updates.
