Today, Epic Games has released the latest Fortnite Fesitval trailer, featuring James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo from Metallica as the Icons joining Fortnite Festival Season 4. Following three seasons putting major pop artists in the spotlight, Fortnite Festival will feature an entirely new genre for Harmonix's game within a game. Check out the latest details for the new PvP mode and Metallica skins below, but before that, check out the trailer for Fortnite Festival Season 4:
Fortnite Festival Season 4 Battle Stage
Fortnite Festival Season 4 will bring the Battle Stage, which is a brand new musical PVP experience where 16 players will enter, but only one can win. In the Battle Stage, players will compete against each other across a four-song setlist to be the last one standing when the curtain falls and it all fades to black.
To balance the competition, players will select an instrument and difficulty but can't choose songs from their library. The Overdrive multiplier feature already featured in Festival will now let players launch attacks at their opponents, which can slow their scoring and interrupt their streaks. The mode also lets skill-based matchmaking system so players can be grouped with others at their rank, resulting in a more even playing field.
"Don't worry if you hear a tune you haven't mastered yet," an explanation of Battle Stage said. "You can turn the tides of battle by launching attacks on your opponents to slow their scoring and break their streak! Prepare for your attack the same way you'd launch into Overdrive on the Main Stage – play Overdrive Phases to build Overdrive and press the Attack button to throw your rivals off course while boosting your own score! The more Overdrive you hold, the longer your attack will be."

Fortnite Festival Season 4 Pass
The pass for Fortnite Festival Season 4 offers the customary paid and free paths, which include various new cosmetics. One major change this season, however, is that players will get more skins for buying into the Festival Pass's premium track. All four members of Metallica have been turned into Fortnite skins, and for the new pass, players who buy the Premium Reward Track will automatically get the Lars Ulrich skin, while frontman James Hetfield, Kirk Hamett, Robert, and Trujilio can be unlocked by working their way through rewards which include other Metallica cosmetics.

Other Metallica tracks that will be available are Fuel, Master of Puppets, Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, Ride the Lightning, and Wherever I May Roam.
Fortnite Festival Season 4 is scheduled to launch on June 13, 2024.
