Netflix has officially renewed its longest-running Spanish series, Elite, for Season 8. On Wednesday, the streamer has announced that production on the Spanish series will commence in August 2023. Zeta Studios will once again take charge in the production of the teen drama which is led by creators Jaime Vaca and Carlos Montero.
The new episodes for Season 8 will be directed by Daniel Barone (Killer Women), Elena Trapé (The Distances), Ginesta Guindal (In Love All Over Again), and Jota Linares (Dancing on Glass).
Who are the new cast members of Elite Season 8?
Two new faces and an original cast member will be joining the cast of Elite for its eighth season. New cast members include Nuno Gallego of UPA Next, and Ane Rot of Killer Book Club.
Meanwhile, one of the original cast members, Mina el Hammani, who played Nadia during Elite's first three seasons, will reprise her role in Season 8. There are currently no details available about how many episodes she will appear in.
What happened to Nadia in Elite?
In the finale of Season 3, Nadia moved to New York with Lu to attend university, but promised her boyfriend Guzmán that she would return for him. Unfortunately, after the couple tried to make a long-distance relationship work in Elite Short Stories, the agony of it ultimately led them to break up early in the fourth season. At the end of Season 4, Guzmán then left Las Encinas with his friend Ander.
When is Elite Season 8 coming to Netflix?
Now that Netflix announced that production is scheduled to begin in August 2023, we expect filming to run until November 2023 at the earliest, and January 2024 at the latest, meaning that it's likely that we won't see Elite Season 8 arrive on Netflix until Spring or Summer of 2024.

Netflix hasn't officially confirmed if Elite Season 8 will be the show's final season. As long as lot of viewers watch the show, it's likely that the streaming giant will keep renewing the show.
