Dune: Part Three's Final Trailer Puts an Assassination Plot at the Heart of Paul's Empire

An Emperor, a Voice used on a princess and a plot that runs through Chani — Dune: Part Three is saving its darkest turn for last.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the final trailer for Dune: Part Three, and the last chapter of Denis Villeneuve's trilogy turns on a conspiracy aimed at the Emperor himself. Nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium, the trailer shows a ruler facing the consequences of his reign.

The footage centers on an exchange between Paul and Princess Irulan, in which Paul uses the Voice on her. Irulan reveals an assassination attempt involving Chani, pulling Paul's long-lost love into the heart of the unfolding mystery.

The trailer also delivers the film's most anticipated first looks. Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke appear as Leto II and Ghanima, the twin children of Paul and Chani, while Anya Taylor-Joy steps forward as Paul's sister, Alia Atreides.

Robert Pattinson makes his franchise debut as Scytale, the conspiracy's most dangerous new face. Jason Momoa returns in a reimagined take on Duncan Idaho, Paul's old swordmaster, brought back in a form the earlier films never used.

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya lead the returning cast as Paul and Chani, alongside Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica. Javier Bardem returns as Stilgar, with Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam and Isaach de Bankolé as Farok.

Villeneuve directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brian K. Vaughan, based on Frank Herbert's novels, with this chapter adapting Dune Messiah. Hans Zimmer returns to compose the score, and the trailer carries the tagline "Do not fear the end."

The film closes out one of the defining sci-fi trilogies of the decade. Dune and Dune: Part Two grossed more than $1 billion combined worldwide, and Villeneuve has framed this third film as the conclusion of Paul Atreides' story rather than an open-ended continuation.

Warner Bros. Pictures describes the film as follows:

Dune: Part Three is set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now a ruthless Emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. Haunted by visions of Imperial collapse and the reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn into a sweeping conspiracy, with Chani at the heart of its unfolding mystery. As rebellion brews and enemies close in, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves the most.
