We all know that Dune was only the beginning of Denis Villeneuve's stunning cinematic universe and the filmmaker is proving that things can only get better from here. Rebecca Ferguson had the chance to talk about Dune: Part II and she is claiming that the sequel is "so f-cking good."
In the first movie, Rebecca Ferguson was introduced as Lady Jessica but her version of the Duke Leto Atreides' concubine is tougher and more skilled in combat compared to what people have grown to learn while reading the book. Interestingly, it might be one of the reasons why Ferguson is hyping up Part 2.
Rebecca Ferguson is currently promoting her new series Silo but she also opened up about the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 movie. When asked by Collider whether the second film is really as good as insiders claim it is, Ferguson had nothing but praise for Villeneuve's upcoming project.
"It's so f-cking good. I get emotional talking about it because I love [Villeneuve] and I love [cinematographer] Greig [Fraser] and I love the team," she said.
Ferguson went on to compare the first film to the sequel.
"Number one is phenomenal and big and grandiose, and then you go close-ups and the imagery and the acting. Yeah, it's all great," she said.
"It's f-cking nothing compared to number two. Number two, it's like a f-cking gut punch. It's unreal," Ferguson added.
She went on to reveal she hasn't seen the full film yet but had read the script and seen the footage that they have already shot. Ferguson went on to praise new cast members Austin Butler and Christopher Walker, who will play Feyd-Rautha and the Emperor, respectively.
It's not a huge surprise that Rebecca Ferguson couldn't hold back from praising the sequel. After all, Villeneuve had promised that the second film will match and
Dune: Part 2 will also bring back Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. They will also be joined by Florence Pugh and Léa Seydoux who have been cast as Princess Irulan and Lady Margot, respectively.
The second film is still based on Frank Herbert's legendary novel but will cover the latter half of the book. Dune: Part II is currently scheduled for release on November 3, 2023.
