Demon Lord, Retry! R, the sequel to the TV anime adaptation of Kurone Kanzaki's Demon Lord, Retry! light novel series, has revealed a new trailer, key visual, and theme song details today. The isekai fantasy series is scheduled to premiere on October 5, 2024 in Japan. Crunchyroll is confirmed to stream the series as part of its Fall 2024 anime lineup, but no release date has been announced yet for the platform. Based on the trailer, it looks like the anime will feature a lot of comedic moments and dark adventures. Watch the new trailer for Demon Lord, Retry! R below:
The opening song, titled Ashita Sekai ga Owaru Toshite mo (“Even If the World Ends Tomorrow...”), is performed by ASCA; and the ending theme song is Clan Chic feat. Yuho Kitazawa, performed by MIMiNARI. Studio GEKKOU is producing the animation of the upcoming anime, with Kazuomi Koga (Rent-A-Girlfriend Seasons 1 and 2) directing the sequel, Katsuhiko Takayama (Protocol: Rain) working on the script, and Minori Homura (Isekai Onsen Paradise) designing the characters.

What is Demon Lord, Retry! R about?
The Demon Lord, Retry! light novel series by Kurone Kanzaki was originally published under Futabasha's Monster Bunko imprint with illustrations by Kōji Ogata (first edition). The series moved to M Novels, fully revised and published with new illustrations by Amaru Minotake (second edition). It also received a manga adaptation by Kurone Kanzaki with illustrations by Amaru Minotake, and it was ongoing in Gaugau Monster from 2017 to 2019.
The sequel, Demon Lord, Retry! R, by the same artist, started in 2020 on the Web Comic Action platform. The light novel series and manga were licensed in English by J-Novel Club, and the company shared the following plot description:
