Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Announced With New Trailer & Teaser Visual

Following the broadcast of the 24th and final episode of Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi) Season 1 in Japan, the official account of the fantasy anime announced that the series has been renewed for Season 2. To celebrate the renewal, a brand-new trailer and teaser visual were released along with the announcement. Watch the new Delicious in Dungeon video below:

The new teaser visual, which highlights Laios Touden and his party of adventurers, looks more minimal compared to the anime's previous posters, but this "appetizer" should whet the appetite of fans looking forward to seeing more of this hit comedy fantasy anime.

Delicious in Dungeon premiered on January 4, 2024 worldwide on Netflix, and aired for two consecutive cours. Studio Trigger produced the animation, with Yoshihiro Miyajima (SSSS.Dynazenon film, episode director for SSSS.Gridman) as the director of Season 1. Kimiko Ueno (The Royal Tutor, Chimimo, Eternal Boys) was in charge of the series composition, and Naoki Takeda (chief animation director for BNA: Brand New Animal) designed the characters, while Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles) composed the music.

The Season 1 finale episode, Dumplins -2-/Bacon and Eggs, was released on Thursday. The Japanese voice cast of Delicious in Dungeon anime includes:

What is Delicious in Dungeon about?

Delicious in Dungeon is based on the manga of the same title (Japanese: ダンジョン飯, Hepburn: Danjon Meshi) written and illustrated by Ryoko Kui. The comedy fantasy series was serialized in Enterbrain's Harta magazine from February 2014 to September 2023. Yen Press, which licensed the official English version of the manga, shared a story description for Delicious in Dungeon:

What do you get when you cross dungeon adventures and food manga? You get Delicious in Dungeon , where we find our troupe of adventurers on a mission to save their lost team member while figuring out how to survive on the food that the dungeon provides. When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions. They're eager to get right back to it, but there's just one problem: if they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they're sure to eat it on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: "Let's eat the monsters!" Slimes, basilisks, mimics, and even dragons...none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
