Kabru (VA: Wataru Katoh)

Character Description:

The leader of a young party of dungeon explorers. Though he may be inexperienced as an adventurer, he makes up for it with his innate observational skills.

Wataru Katoh’s comment:

Kabru is interested in “humans”, has excellent communication skills, and hates dungeons and monsters, making him the opposite of Laios. However, the two do have similarities, and based on my personal interpretation, if Laios is considered a biologist, Kabru could be considered a sociologist. The world of “Delicious in Dungeon” is meticulously structured, and the motives and anticipations of the various characters are what help develop the story. Within this series, it is Laios’ party that introduces us to the charm of trying to eat monsters, but just perhaps, it may be Kabru’s party that actually approaches the mysteries of this world itself. I’m happy to be able to convey this wonderful story “Delicious in Dungeon”, a celebration of all living things, to even more people through the anime. It would be great if you could support the anime as well as the original manga. Thank you for your support, and please look forward to it.

Rinsha (VA: Rie Takahashi)

Character Description:

A magician who travels alongside Kabru.

Rie Takahashi’s comment:

This time, I’ve been selected to play the role of Rinsha, the magician of Kabru’s party! This adaptation carefully represents the depiction of each and every panel of the manga. During the character building when playing Rinsha, I learned and discovered things each time I went on set – even if you were to take any single line of the dialogue, I don’t think there was ever a moment where I had to compromise anything. Whether you’re a fan of the manga, or just happened to be interested this time, this beloved anime adaptation will have you smacking your lips in anticipation. Please do watch it!

Mickbell (VA: Miyu Tomita)

Character Description:

A half-foot who is a member of Kabru’s party. He brings along the Kobold Kuro, who he hired.

Miyu Tomita’s comment:

I’m Miyu Tomita, and I play Mickbell. He has such an adorable appearance, but there are times when an evil look will show on his face. Mickbell and Kuro are often seen together, and even while I was playing my role, I was soothed by their interactions. And the overwhelming visual beauty…! I was touched; everything looks really delicious…!! Furthermore, it’s not just the food, but the battles that will leave you on the edge of your seat that add to the appeal of this series. I hope you look forward to each episode with an empty stomach while eating delicious food!

Holm (VA: Yuya Hirose)

Character Description:

A gnome youth who is a member of Kabru’s party.

Yuya Hirose’s comment:

I’m Yuya Hirose, and I play the role of Holm! Holm is a spirit magician who uses the four spirits of water, wind, fire, and earth, even giving them names and lovingly caring for them! He is sort of “fluffy”, and even his slightly clumsy points make him an endearing character. The recording and animation production were meticulously done, so I can’t wait for it to air! Please look forward to Kabru and the others’ performances as well!

Kuro (VA: Toru Nara)

Character Description:

A Kobold hired by Mickbell.

Toru Nara’s comment:

I’ve been selected to play the role of Kuro! Food is important, right?  “Delicious” provides a power that surpasses its nutritional value to not only the body, but also mind and spirit. As a viewer, I look forward to seeing how the various dishes made with locally sourced “ingredients” from within the dungeon will be portrayed. Kuro’s appearance and movements may seem adorable, but when it comes to fighting, he’s reliable… or at least, he should be! Please look forward to the fighter and “nose” of Kabru’s party, Kuro, as well as all other members of the party!

Daya (VA: Kei Kawamura)

Character description:

A dwarf who is a member of Kabru’s party.

Kei Kawamura’s comment:

Hearing rumors of an anime adaptation, as a fan I was eagerly waiting for further news, but who would have guessed that I would be able to take part in it myself!? Just like how they face the dungeons with a spirit of inquiry, I too would like to help create this series – greedily, while having fun, and with lots of love.   Ever since I watched the premiere screening that was released the other day, my excitement and appetite know no bounds! Don’t you get hungry when you come across an interesting series!? I can’t wait for it start airing!

Ryokuoushoku Shaka Credit: Ryokuoushoku Shaka

Delicious in Dungeon anime's ending theme song titled Party!! is performed by the Japanese pop rock band Ryokuoushoku Shakai. You can read their comment here:

The first time we read the manga, the unique ingredients, detailed dungeon settings and lovable characters had us completely immersed in the story. It’s a great honor to be able to be involved in this series, whose anime adaptation has been long awaited by many, through our music. We wrote this song with the feeling of being allowed to join the party led by Laios, and hope that this party song brought to you by Ryokuoushoku Shakai will serve as a dessert you can look forward to with every episode.

What is Delicious in Dungeon about?

Delicious in Dungeon anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Ryoko Kui, which has been serialized in Enterbrain’s Harta magazine since February 2014. The manga series was licensed by Yen Press in English, and the publisher shared a story description for the series:

When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
