Deadpool & Wolverine Star Ryan Reynolds Debunks a Lady Deadpool Casting Theory

Meanwhile, Lady Deadpool is one of the many Deadpool variants fans are about to see in Deadpool & Wolverine. As the actress behind the mask is yet to be revealed, there are theories that it could either be Blake Lively or Taylor Swift. However, another famous assumption is that Lady Deadpool is Ryan Reynolds himself. As Hugh Jackman calls this his favorite fan theory at a recent global press conference (via ComicBookMovie), Reynolds debunks this claim.

“As if I could...My hips, they lie like hell. Those hips don't lie,” he said. “Oh yeah, I was on set with her and she's...that is a red jaguar coming at us.”

Afraid that the actor may slip a major spoiler, director Shawn Levy chimes in and asks Reynolds to stop. “Let's say no more. Let's say no more,” he ordered.

In a different interview with Access Hollywood, Reynolds admits that he loves seeing conspiracy theories about who Lady Deadpool could be. Like Jackman, his favorite is the one who claims it is him. However, if fans compare the female character’s figure to him, he stresses they can see a big difference.

“I don’t know how I could do that with my hips; I cannot walk like that to save my life,” he explained. “My shoulders are absurdly broad for a suit like that, so no, it is not me.”

Reynolds even quips that he doesn’t know who the woman behind the Deadpool mask is. In fact, he intentionally tells everyone not to reveal who the actress is to him when they are filming, as he wants to find it out himself.

“I was like, ‘Pick anyone you want, alright? And don’t tell me,’” he said.
