Earlier this year, the anime adaptation of Dead Mount Death Play premiered on Crunchyroll, and it turned out to be one of the most interesting isekai anime shows released in recent years. Based on the manga written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Shinta Fujimoto, the dark fantasy series follows the story of a powerful necromancer known as the Corpse God who died in a legendary battle and is reincarnated—not into the corpse of a fallen kinsman, as intended, but into the corpse of a teenager named Polka Shinoyama, who was recently murdered in modern-day Shinjuku, Japan.
Dead Mount Death Play is a unique blend of "reverse isekai" fantasy, mystery, and comedy, and now, fans are wondering when the series will return. The first twelve episodes of the anime's first season were released during the Spring 2023 anime season, with the finale premiering on June 26, but as viewers who watched all of them know, the story is far from over, and a second cour has already been confirmed. Japanese animation studio Geek Toys will return to produce the remaining episodes with Manabu Ono returning to direct, and the good news is that fans of the anime won't have to wait for long.
Check out everything we know so far about Dead Mount Death Play Cour 2 below, including its release window, plot details, episode count, where to watch, and the latest news. Note that we will update this page with the latest updates once the studio releases more official information about the anime.

Dead Mount Death Play Cour 2 Plot
In the twelfth episode of Dead Mount Death Play, we saw the Corpse God (in Polka's body) unleash a flurry of invisible hands after a string of cops, criminals, and assassins converge on his building. The quirky villain, The Phantom Solitaire, declares that he will uncover the truth about the Corse God, and Lemmings falls after he tries to attack The Phantom Solitaire. Clearly, the complicated conflicts between the characters are not over yet, and it looks like some forces from the Corpse God's homeworld have made it to Shinjuku.
We expect Cour 2 of the anime to build-up these mysteries while answering some questions from the first cour. The mysterious symbol and other villains will likely be revealed, so if you haven't read the manga, expect some fun surprises along the way.
