Netflix has released the first official trailer for its upcoming epic fantasy movie, Damsel, during its Geeked Week 2023 virtual event. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown leads the movie with performances from Robin Wright (House of Cards) and Angela Bassett (Black Panther franchise).

In the movie, Brown plays the young Princess Elodie, who has been tasked with being wed in an arranged marriage. Fortunately for her, Elodie's future husband seemed like a decent man. After moving to a new home, she finds out that her Prince Charming is anything but, and that he and his family have taken her there for deadly purposes. Owing a huge debt to an ancient dragon, the new relatives of Elodie plan on sacrificing her to the giant reptile as a form of payment. Thrown into the pit, she will need to fight to survive. In the trailer, she's seen venturing her way around the darkened maze while trying to avoid the dragon's fiery rage. Queen Isabelle (Wright) spells out the young woman's task of being a sacrifice.
