The isekai anime is based on the light novel series written by Miya Kinojo and illustrated by Katagiri, and it features the protagonist named Banaza/Filo, who is summoned to the world of Klyrode as a hero candidate, but he's just an average merchant who has inadequate skills. However, after slaying a slime, Banaza levels up and unlocks infinite stats.
The series was serialized on Shōsetsuka ni Narō between 2016 and 2019, and Japanese publisher Overlap later acquired it, and under their Overlap Novels imprint, they published it as a light novel in December 2016. A manga adaptation illustrated by Akine Itomachi started serialization in Overlap's Comic Gardo website in January 2019. Now, fans are excited for the anime adaptation that will be produced by J.C. Staff.

The anime was announced at Overlap's 10-year anniversary livestream, which revealed the anime's staff, main cast, first teaser trailer, and key visual. The publisher revealed that Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers is scheduled to premiere on April 8, 2024. It was confirmed that the anime will have a total of 12 episodes.
