Blue Lock Season 2, one of the most highly-anticipated anime sequels of the year, is getting ready to bring back the intense soccer action, and today, a new trailer has been released to hype up sports anime fans. The TV anime sequel, titled BLUE LOCK vs. U-20 JAPAN, is set to premiere on October 5, 2024, and the latest trailer highlights the fast-paced soccer matches we can expect from the second season. It also previews the opening theme song Boujaku no CHARISMA by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, and previews the ending theme, titled One, by boy band Snow Man. Studio Eight Bit will return to animate the sequel. Watch the new trailer for Blue Lock Season 2 below:

Blue Lock Season 2 was originally announced after the finale of the first season back in March 2023. The first season originally premiered in October 2022 and ran for a total of 24 episodes until March 2023, and Studio Eight Bit produced the animation. Japan's impressive performance at the FIFA World Cup contributed well to the popularity of the series and helped boost sales of the Blue Lock manga. Season 1 was a huge hit, and as of November 2023, the manga has sold over 30 million copies, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time, so it's not surprising that it didn't take long for Blue Lock to get renewed for Season 2.
