Blue Box Releases New Opening and Ending Videos For Anime's Cour 2

Blue Box Episode 13 is now streaming on Netflix, and the new opening and ending videos for the anime were released following its premiere.

The second cour of Blue Box anime officially kicked off today with the release of Episode 13, and following its premiere, the official YouTube channel of TMS Entertainment has released new creditless opening and closing videos. The new opening theme song is titled Saraba by Macaroni ‌Empitsu, while the new ending theme song Contrast is performed by TOMOO. The video shares stunning visuals of Blue Box's two leads Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano.

The TV anime adaptation of Kouji Miura's romantic comedy sports manga series was previously confirmed to run for 25 episodes in 2 consecutive cours, and the first one started in the Fall 2024 anime season. Netflix is currently streaming the series worldwide, and new episodes will be released on the service weekly.

Blue Box is directed by Yuichiro Yano, with a series composition by Yuko Kakihara. Miho Tanino is in charge of the character designs. Studio Telecom Animation Film was in charge of the animation, and TMS Entertainment produced the anime.

What is Blue Box about?

Blue Box anime is based on the romantic comedy sports manga series by Koji Miura, which began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump in April 2021. As of August 2024, the series has its chapters compiled in 16 tankoubon volumes. The manga series was originally a 2020 one-shot.

Viz Media, which is publishing the manga in English, shared a plot description for Blue Box:

Taiki admires Chinatsu from afar, but he doubts that she sees him in the same way. Yet somehow, he musters up the courage to tell her to never give up on her dreams! After such a bold declaration, will Taiki’s fleeting high school romance finally begin?
