For the first time in 10 years, the story of Abe Haruaki will finally make it on the small screen. The anime adaptation of Mai Tanaka’s manga, A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!, was officially announced in December 2023 and is now shaping up. ABC Animation Channel has now released the upcoming anime’s first trailer, revealing its main cast and release window, which will be in October 2024.

As shared by the anime’s official website, the preview for A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! begins with Haruaki getting excited to be the teacher he dreams of. However, little does he know that he’s about to teach ghosts and different creatures alongside human students, who possess different abilities, as they welcome him when he enters the room. From there, instead of fulfilling his dream, his nightmare begins.
A narrator reveals that Hyakki Academy is a school for monsters. He then meets Mikoto Sano, a cool, sadistic, handsome guy who can rip up anyone’s clothes when someone touches him, the same thing that happened to Haruaki. It then introduces Utagawa Kuniko, the Madonna of the class, who turns into a big skeleton when she gets emotional.
Zashiki Beniko then takes the scene. She’s the geeky girl with glasses who’s into video games and doesn’t go to school. Though she looks normal, something bad may happen when she wears red clothes. Next is Hatanaka Izuna, a chemistry teacher who’s a former delinquent and will work alongside Haruaki. Rintaro Kamizake is seen talking to his fellow teacher, Izuna. Despite being an alcoholic, he’s a light drinker but gets strong when he drinks alcohol.
The trailer also gives a glimpse of the mishaps that will happen to Haruaki as he joins the school. From being thrown to the pond to being chased by a monster-like dog, he’s about to begin a different adventure that no other teacher may experience.
