A Returner's Magic Should Be Special has recently announced that the isekai anime season will be returning for a second season. The announcement was made just after Episode 12 of the first season aired in Japan, and to commemorate the renewal, the official website and social media accounts of the anime has released a new trailer, visual, and a special video for A Returner's Magic Should Be Special Season 2.

A Returner's Magic Should Be Special anime is based on Usonan's South Korean web novel which was collected into eight volumes from June 2017 to November 2019. The series received a webtoon adaptation that was first serialized in KakaoPage in May 2018, and it was illustrated by Wookjakga. The webtoon was translated into Japanese as Kikansha no Maho wa Tokubetsu Desu, and it's published by Tappytoon in English digitally while the print publication is handled by Yen Press. So far, two out of the four volumes were released in English, and the third volume is scheduled to release on March 19, 2024.
The anime first premiered in Japan on October 8, 2023, and the English dubbed version premiered on October 21 of this year. Arvo Animation animated the series, with Taichi Kawaguchi as director, with Takamitsu Kono in charge of the series composition and Hiromi Kato on character designs. The opening theme GET BACK was performed by FLOW, and the ending theme 6 wo Naderu was peerformed by Momosumomosu. The anime was made available to stream on Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan.
