GTA 6 Leak Reveals Limited-Time Discord Campaign

A datamine points to a short GTA 6 branding push on Discord, coded as Hexagon, starting two days before launch.

Dataminers have uncovered a limited-time Grand Theft Auto VI collaboration hidden inside Discord's code, reportedly set to go live just days before the game launches. The crossover would let users reskin their Discord experience with GTA 6-themed branding — the first promotional tie-in of its kind for Rockstar's blockbuster.

The findings come from Wumpus Central, a Discord-focused datamining account, which published the leak on October 6. According to the datamined references, Discord is working on a limited-time promotional event codenamed "Hexagon" built around the launch of GTA 6.

The campaign reportedly includes three cosmetic items: a GTA 6-themed app icon, a GTA 6 app theme, and a custom display name font styled after the game. Wumpus Central also shared a preview of the app theme, showing the neon-soaked Vice City aesthetic applied to Discord's interface.

Timing-wise, the dates found in the code point to a campaign starting November 17 — two days before GTA 6 hits PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. It's a short-lived promotion, reportedly ending December 8, giving it a run of under three weeks. Discord Nitro subscribers would get an extended window, keeping the items until February 15, 2027.

The more intriguing detail is a previously unidentified Discord Quest spotted alongside the campaign assets. For the uninitiated, Discord Quests are sponsored challenges that reward users with prizes or perks for playing certain games or engaging with specific content. The datamined listing mentions only that some quest with an unknown reward may arrive during the campaign — leaving open the question of whether players could earn something usable in GTA 6 itself, or vice versa. Given how aggressively brands have chased GTA 6's launch window, a reward with real in-game value would be the kind of headline-grabber Discord would want.

There's a certain irony in the pairing: Discord built its empire as the go-to communications platform for PC gamers, yet GTA 6 isn't launching on PC. Rockstar has said nothing about a PC version date, following its long pattern of delayed PC ports. A Discord crossover still makes sense as pure marketing — the platform's audience overlaps heavily with the game's most online fanbase — but PC players will be customizing their chat app for a game they can't yet play.

As with all datamined content, the usual caveats apply. Neither Discord nor Rockstar Games has confirmed the collaboration, and features found in code don't always ship — plans, dates, and rewards can change or be scrapped entirely before launch. But with the game's release now weeks away, the marketing machine is clearly warming up, and this likely won't be the last tie-in to surface.
