On Monday, HIDIVE has officially announced that the anime adaptation of 2.5 Dimensional Seduction will be part of the streamer's Summer 2024 anime lineup, which currently includes titles such as Plus-Sized Elf, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and Oshi No Ko Season 2. J.C. Staff is production the animation of the romantic comedy series.

2.5 Dimensional Seduction is scheduled to premiere on July 5, 2024, but it was also confirmed that before the TV anime's streaming debut, there will be a screening of its first episode at Anime Expo 2024 on July 4. The special screening will take place at 403 AB, located on the Level 2 Concourse of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Hideki Okamoto (Konohana Kitan, Manaria Friends) is directing the anime, with Takao Yoshioka (Horimiya) as the series composer. Tomoyuki Shitaya (The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess) is in charge of character designs, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) is composing the anime's music.

What is 2.5 Dimensional Seduction about?
The anime is based on the romantic comedy manga of the same title (Japanese: Nitengo-jigen no Ririsa) written and illustrated by Yu Hashimoto. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ since June 2019. Volume 20 of the series is schedule to release on July 4, JST.
Seven Seas Entertainment shared a plot description for the anime:
“I have no interest in real girls!” So claims Okumura, the president of the school’s manga club. He’s your typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Liliel. Then the new school year starts, and a (real!) 3D girl named Lilysa whose passion is cosplay joins the club. Lilysa convinces Okumura to become her photographer–and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Lilysa is into modeling the fetishy stuff! The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds.
